Achieving Something in My Life

Why I'm Going to Lose a Lot of Money in a Few Months

So I am large fan of collector's and ultimate editions for games and so far a lot of things coming up soon are looking somewhat amazing. Now I am a bit skeptical sometimes because while the nice add on stuff is some of the fun when it comes to purchasing these editions, I really only care about the game by the end of the day. So while the extra perks are nice, if the game is shit, I just spent hundreds of dollars for nothing *cough* Dissidia *cough*. But for the ones that are actually worth it, I would have to say money well spent. Anyway, here are the collector's editions that I am looking forward to in the future. Though I'm going to be sticking with the US release of these games.

Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle- June 4th 2018 $99.99
I've never really played a Blazblue game, it just wasn't something that caught my attention to much. The only thing from Arc Systems that I've played was actually the Persona 4 Arena games. Seeing as though this is a cross over game, it seems like something that would probably be really nice for getting into the rest of the series. But that being said, this collector's edition actually looks really nice. By the looks of it, it seems to come with both the standard case as well as a steelbook case. The art book seems to be on the small part and isn't a hardcover book but it seems like a nice way to see some concept art and the soundtrack is only just 15 track sampler. The thing that makes this the most interesting is the acrylic stands of four of the main characters in this game. While I'm not sure what they'll look like in person or whether or not the quality will hold up but this is actually a pretty interesting one so far this year.

Octopath Traveller Wayfarer's Edition- July 13th 2018 $99.99
I don't actually care about all of the other things that this one comes in this one. The only thing I care about here is the popup book that this thing comes with. That and I am actually a huge sucker for Square- Enix RPGs. The popup book is actually something that is just really interesting and something that you wouldn't be seen that often.

Little Dragons Cafe Limited Edition- August 24th 2018 $79.99
Okay so nothing has actually been announced for this game's collector's edition, this is just a fan's speculation. Although, knowing that it's something from the creator's of the Harvest Moon series, it's probably going to be something very very adorable.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Ultimate Edition- September 14 2018 $199.99
Square-Enix has actually been pulling out of the stops when it comes to Tomb Raider although. I really don't care too much for most of this stuff, except for the statue and the soundtrack. If this statue is going to be anything like the one I got with Dissidia's collector's edition a few months ago then I can probably say that it's going to be fairly decent in quality. The soundtrack on the other hand will most likely just be a sound selection but it's always a nice edition to add to any playlist. I'm not sure if this one will come with the Steelbook but I don't really care about those too much. They are a nice edition but it's actually something that doesn't really add to this experience.

Whatever Collector's Editions that Come Out for Kingdom Hearts III and Smash- TBA
Okay so we all know that there are going to be something fun for these two games coming out. Kingdom Hearts III will most likely have a sound selection, art book, and a plush of some kind. Whereas Smash, it's probably going to something like a GameCube adapter for the Switch. Either that or a custom dock that has GameCube controller ports on it. Either way I'm going to be dropping at least $100 each on both of those.
