August 26th 2018. At a tournament for the newly released
Madden 19 video game, a gunman opened fire inside the tournament killing
two people and injuring nine before taking his own life. The shooter was identified as David Katz and his body was among the three dead found when police responded to the gunshot. The other nine were transported to nearby hospitals where they should be okay by this point in time.
There isn't really much of a known motive for why he decided to open fire. Some speculate mental health issues, others have stated that he just lost a match and then his temper as well. Either way, the media was all over this immediately following this event.
In other news. A Nintendo Direct that has been originally scheduled for September 6th has been delayed due to a
6.7 magnitude earthquake following a typhoon. The new date for the direct has been moved to the 13th and all I have to say is, what the hell is wrong with people? There are actually people who are mad that Nintendo decided to delay this direct out of respect for the many injured and all of the damage done to the place. I mean people died and yet there are the few people out there who care more about what characters are coming to
Smash rather than the fact that someone lost their life, their home, or just really banged. I mean come on, have some human decency. I am fairly certain that most of these people are trolling.
