I've never actually played a God of War game before so I might not make a review of that one just yet. To be fair, I've never actually been interested in the God of War series so I never really gave it much thought. But because the limited edition PS4 Pro it came with was the same price as a regular PS4 Pro, $399.99, it only made sense to pick that one up since it came with a copy of God of War for essentially free. I've been wanting to pick up the PS4 Pro for awhile and this was the perfect excuse along with the fact that there was a deal at my local GameStop that pretty much made my launch day PS4 more than half the price of this PS4 Pro.
Opening up the box came the beautiful PS4 Pro and it is amazing. The grey seems to work out really nicely for the PS4 and the Leviathan Ax's symbols all over the PS4 makes this a perfect collectible for any God of War fan or someone looking to collect every PS4 out there. While I'm not exactly a fan of the glossy finish on the top, I am glad that it's only partway on the top and the rest of it is a matte finish. Which is actually quite nice as it actually does give the feeling of Kratos' ax in game.
As for the controller. The Leviathan symbol is a nice touch to show for it's relation to the game. But, the God of War logo on the touchpad was a bit unnecessary. While it still looks nice; that was a bit overboard. I'm more of a fan of a simplistic design and I don't think I need a constant reminder to tell me that this controller is a tie in for God of War.
The most surprising thing to me actually was the game. Not jumping into actual game play yet. I was surprised that the copy of the game I got came with a code for all of the content that the digital deluxe version of the game came with as well. Instead of it being an $60 game for free, it was a $70 game instead.
I have to say, this is probably one of the best PS4 Pro bundles that you can probably pick up at the moment being the same price as a regular PS4 Pro but also comes with an extra $70 of content that is essentially free. If you've been wanting to upgrade to a Pro, this is the best one to go for.
