Achieving Something in My Life

Life is Strange: Before the Storm Limited Edition

Having purchased the digital deluxe edition of Life is Strange: Before the Storm a few months ago, there wasn't really a need for me to pick up a physical release for this game. You know, except for the art book that it comes with, the sound track, and these two adorable vinyl figures of Rachel Amber and Chloe Price. With all of that said, I'm actually really impressed with this limited edition, at the $39.99 price point you wouldn't really expect a limited edition like this to come with a fair amount of content however this did a lot more than just a few small things.

That CD that comes bundled with this limited edition comes with 15 tracks from the game and it actually covers up a fair amount of the tracks that appear in the game. While I am a little disappointed that Pisshead didn't have a track in this soundtrack, I can't complain. It's a nice selection from the game and will probably be something nice to doze off to in the middle of class.

The art book that comes along is a tiny little thing, barely larger than the size of my hand. While it is on the small side, it has a nice amount of concepts, drawings, and alternate costumes for a lot of the main characters. While I would like more explanation for why they chose the final designs this actually a decent art book.

And the thing that actually made me want to pick this thing up was the four inch vinyl figures of Rachel and Chloe. These figures were only given out as preorder bonuses at GameStop and Square-Enix and I have to say, they are so adorable. The simplistic, cartoony look surprisingly captured the feeling of both Rachel and Chloe by just looking at them, and material used on them. Normally physical preorder bonuses are sometimes a bit on the cheap side, however these two felt like they were made out of the same material as Funko Pop Vinyls. Honestly, I would probably have spent the $40 on just these two when I know that they would only cost like seven dollars outside of these things.

For the $39.99 price point, this is definitely one of the things that you'd want to pick up just because of the content to price ratio. While this is by far not the best collector's or limited edition I've seen, it is a great one to choose if you're looking to start up collecting these kinds of things or if you're looking for that nice gift for that Life is Strange fan that you know. Also, since I don't really need the code for the bonus Farewell episode. Whoever wants it can have it. Just first come first serve.
